What to pack for Martinique

Packing your suitcase for Martinique is already a bit of a start to the journey.Between dream beaches, tropical forests, colorful villages, and rhythmic evenings, the island can be discovered in all its facets.Here's the complete guide so you don't forget anything - and make the most of every moment, from warm sand to cool waterfalls. 🌴

👕 Clothing & accessories: the art of traveling light

For beach and water sports

  • 2 to 3 bathing suits: a must! The turquoise waters will beckon you every day.
  • Sarong or pareo: cover up after a swim, improvise a picnic or wear a light dress.
  • Rashguard or anti-UV t-shirt: useful for snorkeling or kayaking in the tropical sun.
  • Sunglasses (UV400): the Caribbean sun is no laughing matter. Opt for a comfortable, protective pair.
  • Hat or cap: ideally wide-brimmed, especially for children.

For the daily newspaper

  • Lightweight cotton or linen garments: flowing dresses, shorts, loose-fitting shirts... keep it simple.
  • A dressier outfit: for a seaside dinner or an evening at the Resort.
  • A light sweater or vest: useful at altitude or in the sometimes chilly air.
  • Waterproof windbreaker: tropical weather can sometimes throw up a few surprises.
  • Underwear & socks: for a week's supply, you can do your laundry at the Resort.

  • Flip-flops, sandals or beach gougounes: your best everyday ally.
  • Hiking shoes: essential for Montagne Pelée, waterfalls and forest trails.
  • Water shoes: perfect for rivers, slippery rocks or coral reefs.
  • Light sneakers or running shoes: for urban strolls or local markets.

☀️ Sun protection & essential care

  • Biodegradable sun cream (SPF 50+): essential for protecting both your skin and the reefs.
  • After-sun cream or pure Aloe Vera: to soothe the skin.
  • Lip balm with SPF: often forgotten, always useful.
  • Tropical mosquito repellent (DEET or Icaridine): especially at sunrise and sunset.
  • Mosquito repellent treatment for clothing: a plus for hikers.
  • Small travel pharmacy: bandages, disinfectant, paracetamol, antihistamines and personal medicines.

All these products are available in pharmacies around the Resort or in our boutique.

  • Microfiber towel: lightweight, compact, quick-drying.
  • Waterproof bag or cover: to protect your phone and papers.
  • Spacious beach bag: for all your little ones.

  • Chargers: same plugs as in mainland France (220V).

  • Valid identity card or passport: check expiry date.
  • Driving license: essential if you hire a car to explore the island.
  • Tickets, reservations & insurance: digital and paper versions.
  • International credit cards: all establishments accept Visa and Mastercard. Some also accept American Express.
